US Market

 US market indexes declined at the close on Thursday, reversing earlier gains as Treasury yields increased following a disastrous 30-year bond auction that masked positive financial results from major corporations like Disney and PepsiCo.

On Thursday, the Nasdaq Composite sank 120.94 points, or 1.02 percent, to 11,789.58, the S&P 500 lost 36.36 points, or 0.88 percent, to 4,081.5, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 249.13 points, or 0.73 percent, to 0.88%.

ASIAN Market

Following Wall Street swings and ahead of China's inflation statistics, Asia-Pacific markets experienced mixed trading on Friday. Core prices in China are predicted to increase by 2.2 percent on an annualised basis, according to economists surveyed by Reuters. 

The S&P/ASX 200 in Australia dropped 0.68 percent in the opening hour of trading as traders awaited the Reserve Bank of Australia's monetary policy announcement. The Topix fell 0.23 percent while the Nikkei 225 increased by 0.1 percent. South Korea's Kospi decreased by 0.76 percent.

SGX Nifty 

Trends in the SGX Nifty suggest to a 102 point fall in the broad Indian index's opening session. On the Singaporean exchange, the Nifty futures were trading at approximately 17,828 levels.



Oil declines as rate hike fears increase and the impact of the earthquake on crude oil is lessened 


Crude prices decreased on Thursday as US inventories grew and investors fretted about Federal Reserve rate hikes. Oil infrastructure appeared to have been spared significant damage from the earthquake that devastated parts of Turkey and Syria. 

Brent crude lost 59 cents, or 0.7 percent, to close at $84.50 a barrel. US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures decreased by 41 cents or 0.5 percent to settle at $78.06 a barrel. Both benchmarks have increased by more than 5% this week.
